Originally these were going to be included in this awesome little teaching artist time hack:
However I apparently miscounted because I had 15 activities when I dusted off the file.
I couldn’t think of a snazzy title for the 15, so here the remaining five.
This way, you have the option of deciding if you even need/want the rest!
1. RHYTHM RESPONSE – TRAVELING
Each time the class hears a “beat” they take a step, moving in the space.
Make straight, repetitive rhythms by stomping, clapping, or using an instrument, then syncopate the rhythm.
2. RHYTHM REVERSE
One person does a repetitive traveling movement and continues until the class successfully claps the rhythm of the movement.
3. ELEMENTAL BREAKDOWN
One person does a dance step (best to start with something familiar to participants). The rest of the class tries to figure out the number of distinct movements that go into doing the step.
4. SCULPTORS — PHYSICAL
In pairs or groups, one person is chosen to be the “mold” and closes their eyes. The others are sculptors and move the person’s body into a sequence of movements. The mold must remember and perform the dance.
5. SCULPTORS – VERBAL
In pairs or groups, one person is chosen to be the “mold” and closes their eyes. The others tell the statue how and where to move. The mold must remember and perform the dance.

I’m excited about what you’re writing
I truly do want to hear from you! I appreciate any opportunity to pontificate on these subjects. Or, if I can help in any way, let me know.
